John is the Vice Chair of Community Inclusions, the Chair of the Government Relations Committee of the Summerside Chamber of Commerce, a board member in the Summerside Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Rules Committee for the Law Society of Prince Edward Island.

John has a general practice including all areas such as Real-estate, Wills and Estates, and Company Law, and he has practiced, and continues to, in all areas of Civil Litigation.

John is married to Karen Brennan. John is originally from O'Leary and now resides in Grand River, Prince Edward Island, and is an active fly fisher.
