Activities
Walter is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Law Foundation of Prince Edward Island, Chair of the P.E.I. Advisory Committee of the Atlantic Salmon Conservation Fund and a member of the P.E.I. Recreational Fisheries Committee.
Walter is a past president of the P.E.I. Law Society and also a past president of the PEI Liberal Party. He is a former member of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Prince Edward Island and past Minister of Provincial Affairs and Attorney General, and also former Minister of Health and Social Services for the Province of Prince Edward Island. Walter also served for six years as a part time member of the National Parole Board of Canada. He has been actively involved in many community organizations since commencing practice in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, in 1973. He is a former senior partner in predecessor law firms to McLellan, Brennan, including Campbell and Campbell, Campbell McEwen, Campbell McEwen and McLellan, and Campbell McEwen Taylor and McLellan.
Personal
Walter grew up in Montague, Prince Edward Island and is married to the former Myrna Nicholson, of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. They have three sons, Scott, Shawn, and James, and two grandchildren.
